Here is my edit for this weeks RAW Edit from FroKnowsPhoto.com. Again, this was editing entirely on an iPad 2, with only using two apps. The first app is to edit the RAW files, then export it as a jpeg to the camera roll. Then I edit it on one of the various image editing apps I have for IOS.
I am loving all the editing I have been doing lately, it has been therapeutic! But, I really need to get out and shoot ASAP! I have 10 days of vacation starting tomorrow! I hope to shoot every day!
I’ve been reading Jared Polin’s blog {froknowsphoto.com} for a while now, and decided on trying my hand on the weekly raw edit that he throws up.
This weeks photo was what actually got me interested in giving it a try. The photo is of a guitar player at a concert and he is rocking out. I’ve been interested in concert photography for a while now, and even more so lately with all the awesome concerts that I’ve been going too.
Here is the original photo with my edit on the right. I have been editing on the iPad 2 a lot lately, so I decided to try editing a RAW image on it too, but I haven’t found a way yet to actually edit the raw file on the iPad. So this is a jpeg converted for use on the iPad.
This is a picture from a few years back, of a co-worker of mine from a previous job. I met Devin while I worked at the Knight Ridder building down in San Jose.
I remember he was a go-getter, he was working full time while going to school and trying to break into the music industry as a singer/rapper/producer all at the same time. I don’t think the dude slept.

I was going through some old pictures on my Flickr and decided to edit a few. I wanted to try out a new method of editing than what I originally used. I will be editing the files from Flickr, since my hard drive with the original files was lost a while back. That was a sad day. I never got over losing that drive, and I don’t think I ever will.
I’m using the various iOS apps to edit these, and will be posting them here on my blog occasionally.

I couldn’t get back some of the details in the shadows so I decided to go with a different dark tone for this edit.

Here are some pictures from a shoot that a was able to do this past weekend, before heading to an incredible Journey concert. I originally had a shoot scheduled with some babes, but had to reschedule due to illness(sick babies don’t make for desirable photos). Since I had to drive down for the concert anyway and I had already packed and loaded all the gear in the car, I decided to call a buddy to see if he was free for a shoot. Luckily he and his new girlfriend were free.
Candy and I had some pretty good sushi near Vallco mall, while we waited for JJ and Nicki to meet us up. Since this was a spontaneous shoot, we really had no plan or ideas for the shoot. We didn’t even have an idea where we were going to shoot at, and none of us were really familiar with Cupertino, or at least not with local parks. I did a quick search for “parks” on my iPhone, and drove around until we came to a nice secluded little park in a very nice neighborhood. I think we ended up at a private park for the community, and felt a little awkward walking in, but after a few minutes and only a few short stares we were largely ignored. I had a lot of fun shooting them and being out on such a nice day, and especially getting to test out the diffuser that Candy had built! She’s awesome! But I’ll write about that in later post.
Here is a picture I took last September, while on vacation in Seattle. I really need to get to my pictures much faster than I have been lately. Although, I have come to the conclusion that I get most of the satisfaction from taking a picture, not in viewing, editing or sharing it. Just the act if capturing the moment and composing a shot, I find to be extremely therapeutic. 
Last Saturday, Candy and I went to a party for a friends daughter. I think it was the first birthday party for a baby that I attended, other than the family parties that I was dragged to when I was a kid. I had fun, even though I didn’t get a chance in the bounce house. There were a lot of friends and family of the baby girl who came to celebrate her first birthday, and everyone wanted some personal time with her. We waited until most everybody went home, then candy was able to get some time for a few pictures. I’ll post some of those a little later. Here are some pictures of the party and party goers.
